    Someone reversed into me while I was stopped and ended up scratching rear bumper. Bumper doesn't appear to be cracked or damaged.

    Golf 11 reg.

    Any idea of cost at a main dealer?

    Well maybe Paintdoctor could give a professional estimate.
    IMO, the brackets under the bumber could be bent and require replacing, also only the side of the bumper is damaged. Should only be a small fill and smooth. Main dealer, it could be around €300

    Agreed. It's small bananas assuming it's only cosmetic. Main dealer is unlikely do the work btw. They normally subby that stuff out.

    P.I.T.A. though on a new car.

    Why would you go to a main dealer for that? Most just charge top dollar and send it out to the cheapest bidder. Unless te dealer has their own bodyshop I'd go somewhere based on recommendations.

    Could you recommend somewhere? Cork or Dublin.

    Ideally open on a Sat as well.

    Paintdoctor could do it. Alternatively Williams autobodies in Midleton.

    Are you still doing smart repairs ?

    Surely am, but I'm not doing wheels any longer, there's just too much time and materials involved to make it worthwhile. Besides, there's enough specialists out there doing wheels anyway.

    I've had minor cosmetic jobs done like that on a couple of occasions and it cost me ballpark €200 on both occasions. It involves respraying most of the bumper to do it properly, so if the scratch is an inch long or a foot long, it makes little odds to the cost.
    Judging from the photo, the bumper looks "straight", I don't imagine there's any significant structural damage to warrant taking the bumper off or anything.

    Some of the marks will also polish out, e.g. the reddish marks to the left look like paint off the offending car and it will polish off. But only a paint job will get it 100% right.

    @whyme?

    If you are from Dublin check this: tkccc.ie
    They can spray that cheap.

    I got work done by Kevin Neville in Cork before. He charged me under €200 to repair and repaint the whole back bumper. Job was 100%.
