    Hi Lads

I have a bit of a question. Been offered a job as a junior crm consultant and as part of the job I'd have to learn Siebel and would receive extensive training using the software. I've been hearing that learning a proprietary technology might not be the best career move. Anybody any advice?

    offered a job

Taking a job would be a good career move. I'm assuming that you're fairly new to your working life as it's a junior position. While proprietary technologies may not be the most transferable, you will learn skills that apply across the board.
