Lads i'm looking to off load my 1.9 diesel and maybe get a lower spec model.

Just wondering if a garage would take in a car and in exchange for a lower priced one and maybe throw in a few euros as well.

Cant really see it happening myself but you never know

    Thanks

Likely that the higher spec one is worth less at this stage, based on Irish people mentality.

Well, engine spec anyway. Whats the car?

If you were a tad more specific folks might be able to offer advice, private sale yours and then buy whatever you fancy would be the way to go.

If you did get a deal like this from any garage, you can be sure you are being royally screwed. As above, sell private, buy whatever you want.

Thanks lads, i'm probably just been a bit lazy trying to do it that way.

Its a saab 9-3, 1.9tdi, 2005 low mileage but the tax, insurance is just an expense i don't need every year.

    Private sale it is

    Once again thanks.

You'll have no bother selling that privately if it's in good condition and NCTd etc. Road tax isn't too bad on them though, can't see you saving much on tax and insurance costs to be honest by going for a smaller car. Few hundred a year only, less than a tenner a week anyway.

was thinking same. 1.9 tax is not that horrible. insurance should be okay too, i cant see be much difference between 1.4/1.6 normal saloon and this saab.

if you are not selling this becouse of mechanical problems, then i would just keep it. its a nice car, comfortable, diesel. you wount make much savings by selling it and buying something with smaller engine. by saving 10eu per week, you will spend even more.

thing is executive sallons which are loaded with extras are cheaper then **** boxes with manual windows in ireland.
