octavia bushings

    hi
    i have a 07 octavia vrs just failed the nct on front drivers wishbone bushing.
    just wondering can i get the bush at an auto factors and just put it in or is the bone to be changed...
    is there one bushing or two on each side

    I changed the trailing arm bush on my Xantia the other day. Turned out they are quit easy to do. There are 2 bushes though and the front one needs a press afaik.

    I would get the VAG original ones. A lot of the spurious ones wont last pissing time TBH.

    Also had a 07 VRS fail for this reason. Now the bushings don't look terrible, the left one has a crack in one section that's maybe just about 1mm deep if even and some hairline cracks and the one on the right is in better condition yet. I brought cars with far worse bushings to the NCT that passed, thinking of softening up the rubber a bit because this is bullsh1t, I'd say yer man was in a rush home and condemning these meant he could skip the slip test

    There doesn't seem to be any metal piece in the middle of these bushes, so they at least look like they can be changed without using a press
