So I paid for the check and there is 1 more owner than the seller said there was. There was also a period of time when the car wasn't taxed between 2005 and 2007. It's a 2005 reg and these are the dates when it was sold:
    Dates of Sale
    20-Jun-2007
    26-Jan-2006
    13-Jul-2005

Should I ring and question the owner or what should I do?!

See on the logbook J3 says previous owners : 3, but that's previous ones, doesn't include the current.

    Probably and honest mistake

Edit: Also could of been sitting on a dealer forecourt for that time.

It's a Toyota Yaris and it has just passed the NCT. I haven't seen it yet, my friend talked to the owner on the phone. I really want to buy it but the owners and the tax thing confused me... It could be something simple maybe I'm worrying about nothing!

What year is it and how much?

They're absolutely bulletproof, timing chain too so no belt to worry about. I wouldn't be too worried. Something like that wouldn't off been off the road for that long if it was crashed, I'm sure there's some explanation.

tax thing wouldnt worry me tbh, all my previous cars will have at least 3 months of no tax per year due to access to a company car.

Hmm it's a bit odd! Rang today and asked when they purchased the car. Said late 2006 and that they're the second owner. Gave me the num of the garage where it was bought.... I'm so confused
