Im a qualified plumber and im thinking of going back to collage to do a bachelor of science in management (ENERGY) as it will be related to my trade and in the energy sector i taught this would be very good to do and the energy sector is the future. My question is what job opportunities do you think could come out of this qualification in the future and who for? any advice? Thanks

Hey im in the same boat myself , im recently qualified plmber and am heading back in september to do building services engineering, from which i can finish up with a degree in building services, or building energy management, or renewable energy.
So like you im looking at where the future is , and at the moment i would lean to getting the building energy management degree in the end.

the way i see it is this with Oil and gas reserves limited ,and ireland being well placed for renewable generation your picking a good field to head for, nobody can tell you what the climate will be like in 4 years but your defo heading in the right direction , and being from a trade background is always a plus as it means your skilled , are used to dealing with tradesmen and people working on the frontline. With your qualification you would probably be trying to get into one of the many energy firms operating in ireland at a management level. No point in saying anything else as its too far to tell
