Just turned on to watch match via soarview, just back from holidays, see attached picture (I hope it worked) of what I am seeing, broken and pixelated picture, viewing via my Philips TV in Mt Leinster region.

    any reason for this

Maybe it's something to do with the new mast installation? Or could be your aerial took some damage while you were away.

    This was last weekend:

What sort of aerial are you using?

Is it a UHF aerial or the old VHF aerial you were using to get the analogue signal?

Old VHF aerial, 10 years old or so, picture quality has been prefect up to now, I dont think its and issue with Wales, I am on far side of Mt Leinster in Kilkenny too far away.

I had cable running directly into my Philips TV from aerial, when saorview came available, I just done an automatic re-install and picked up all digital channels TV and radio. I done this a couple a weeks ago and picked up extra channels including test HD channel, I presume this is from MUX 2, these channels are switched off now, no signal. forgive my lack of technical knowledge but I dont understand what is meant by channel 39, 42, 45, is this through STB's.

I would suggest that you change to a UHF aerial of the correct Group and polarisation. They are reasonably priced but there is the hassle / cost or installing it on your roof (or wherever your old VHF one is currently).

See this web page for a guide to the correct one for your location:

I think the transmission power was reduced recently (or maybe it is weather related) but either way you will receive far better reception with more consistency with the correct aerial.
