    Hi,

My passport expired July of last year and i have a trip booked to London with BMI who stated to me and it says in their website you do not need a vailid passport to travel with the aerline i.e and id such as a drivers licence will suffice. I have not flown or been in an airport in a while. Would I need a passport to go through customs or the ID booth desk in Heathrow or Dublin. Do you need one to your from Ireland and not a refugee etc

Can I ask the obvious question? Why has your passport been expired a whole year and you haven't bothered to get it renewed? It only takes about 14 working days to get one

You need to check the airline's policy - if they say you can do with a driver's license then fine, but you should seriously renew your passport - it's really silly not to have a valid one.

Oh and by the way, Ryanair do not accept anything other than a passport.
