    :(Sony 40EX530 100Hz LCD TV.
I have a 10 year old Philips 32 inch CRT, the 100 Hz model. This set is still in good working order but then again I am looking at it every day and maybe the picture is not as good as I think. Been looking around at the new Flat screen sets as would like to avail of HD viewing from Sky. Already got a HD box from Sky as a replacemment for a faulty box.
Seen Power City and Peats selling the above set for €699 while my local Expert Store was looking for €799. Kept at him about the price and yesterday he said he would let me have it for €699.
I need some advice as although this was set of the year 2010 its a year out of date now. Should I go for one of the newer more expensive Smart Tvs or is this still a good set. I shud mention I have little or no interest in 3D.
    Thanks for any advice.

I am not trying to push Hardy Norman, but I got a leaflet in the door offering an LG 42 inch 42LK450U for €469. This model is Saorview approved, and a 47 inch LG 47LV355U for $699, also Saorview approved. Maybe you might get a better deal from them.

Your Phillips crt is miles better than any lcd. Can handle HD signals far better. None of your ghosting or anything like that.Sharpness of picture is better as well.

Thanks for your commments, I am a bit of a gadget freak and the idea of messing around with one of these Smart TVs appeals to me. I know they are very fiddly and limited in acttual fact.
Thanks for your views on the subject.
