Stone finish on front

    Hi all,

Two questions for you good people...

    (1) Does anyone have a general price for stone finishing on the front of new builds? I understand that the type of stone used affects the price but a lower & higher approx cost would be great.

We have two sections sticking out from both sides of the house front with the following approx measurements for each: 7.5m (h) x 5.1m (w)

    (2) we have the first draft of our plans - would this be enough to get a cost from a QS/engineer or would they need a more detailed version. The draft contains ground/first floor plans & front elevation.

    Many thanks,

    (1) You'll be looking at approx €50 per square meter for stone and same for labour. So around €100 total - so €7500 or so for your job.
Amount of windows/doors and complexity of same may make it more expensive.

    (2) should be enough for a ball park. a lot will depend on your finishes/windows/heating system (if any!)

    best of luck

My understanding was that the 2 questions were completely separate queries...i.e the second q was about getting an estimated cost to build house from plans. Apologises if I misread!! :)

You are spot on - my two questions weren't related. First was about stone finish and second was about overall cost for the house.

    Thanks for the input everyone!
