    Hi folks,
I was reading about these wall sockets you can now buy with a USB slot in them for charging mobiles, ipods, tablets, etc. So far I can only find singleUK compatible ones online but plenty of US ones with double sockets. Can anyone tell me where to get double ones if possible and also if anyone has used them is there much difference in fitting them as opposed to a regular wall plate.
    Many thanks for any advice.

the back box for that socket would be deeper than a standard one, if the socket you are taking out is mounted to a 25mm flush box you may find it hard to fit that in, you'd have to remove the back box and recess it further/replace with a 35mm deep box, but you might be lucky.

I got a unit that plugs into a socket that gives 3 no switched sockets and a pair of switched USB chargers all via light surge protection for about 6 pounds from CPC, can't find it on their site just yet but will link you to it if i do.

    edit

    here they re on sale

I'm happy with mine its hidden behind the TV I can switch the USBs separately to charge the mouse and wii controllers as my media PC is never on long enough to charge the mouse

Thanks for the reply Stoner, that's not exactly what I'm looking for but i appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'm looking for these for a new build but if it was for an existing house you're suggestion would probably be the way to go.

for what it's worth I was looking for these for a new build too about 1 month ago and could not find a twin either only a single. If the job goes a head we'll need a good few of them so I'm hoping the twin comes out too, but I'd imagine that any format of this socket will require a deep back box.
