thinking of changing a jf 900 for a higher output (newer) machine,

wanted to know how the following compare (acres/day hp required problems etc...)

    Pottinger mex 6

were 2 cuts (may/jun) then august generally heavy
lack of a decent reverse system on the jf is a pain

WE have a similar set up jf 900 behind a 200 hp tractor.
I can lift 2 -3 acres per hour heavy first cut, single 10 ft swathes
The jf is easy to maintain and repair.

have to agree that the jf easy to repair to be honest its a fairly basic machine, just dunno how it stacks up again the competition

Lad I drive for had a 10x on a one hundred and sixty horsepower tractor. Said it was the closest thing you could get to a self propelled in the trailed forager market, It used to eat of 20ft swarths of heavy grass no problem.
