Hey guys i heard a rumour that the law states that there is a 5% variance allowed based on the FPS of a gun in relation to the 328 limit.

and i am wondering firstly; is this true?
and if so how exactly does it work?

would that mean that if my AEG shoots 320 to 330 over 10 shots that my gun is still legal because 5% of 328 is 16.4, and should be allowed on site.
also meaning for my AEG to be outright illegal it would have to be shooting consistently around (328 + 16.5 ) = 344.4FPS

I know thats a bit long winded but I heard a guy in a shop talking about it and now im wondering whats the real deal?

    cheers

There is no allowance. Anyone who tells you that is speaking through their defecation manifold.

1J is the limit, enshrined in law and without question or confusion. No allowance, no thresholds and no leeways. It's one of the few mercifully clear cut points in Irish law.

In terms of certification to NSAI standards there are 10 shots taken with some allowance within certain limits but in airsoft terms there is only one chrono that matters, the one used by the site you're playing at, and if you're over even once most (all?) site owners won't allow you to play.

If the law meant it to be 344.4FPS then the law would state 344.4FPS

    Simples
