Letter from landlord

    Hi,
I've applied for the grant this year (didnt get it last year coz I was in Oz on Oct 1st 2009) and I'm trying to get my "evidence" together to show I am who I am etc.

Anyway, I've no bills to prove I was living in Ireland on Oct 1st 2010 since I came back from Oz in late August to go back to college. I didnt settle in and get my act together for a while so didnt change any addresses or get bills until this year. My gf has a UPC bill in her name from around that time i think, but I only got added to that bill a few months ago! All the utilities are under the landlords name.

So, if I was to print out a letter saying I was living in the house since September and that all the bills are in the landlords name, and got the landlord to sign it, would they take that as enough proof? Would I need to put anything specific on it?
I could maybe get a bill from the last couple of months to show we're still living there? I can probably get the bank to send out a current statement, for the last few months, to this address but thats it.

    Any advice appreciated.

PS I just completed 3rd year, now going into 4th year. I had previously done a up to 3rd year in another college but finished there 5/6 years ago. There was definitely 3 years in between finishing there and starting 3rd year in the college I'm currently in.

If you submit a UPC bill in your girlfriends name as proof of residence you'll have to give her details (including income) on the application form. Is your tenancy registered with the PRTB? If so contact them and ask for a letter confirming the start date of your tenancy. Otherwise contact the grant authority for advice - some are more lenient about landlord letters than others (if you have proof of payment of rent on your bank statement or a rent book mention it to them).

Ye I've already submitted her details on the grant application. I have her p60 as well. Both our names are on the UPC bill now but only hers on the old October bill.

On the letter I printed, I just wrote the date we moved in, the address, the rent and that all utility bills are in the landlords name. Hopefully his signature will be enough.
