Best and worst free agents...

...Total Acess did the top 10 free agent busts last night.

Favre to Vikings featured pretty high.

After they mentioned in passing that Reggie White was the best free agent signing ever, when the Packers picked him up for 4 years in 93.

Sorry I can't give all the other 9 busts (Neil O'Donnell was one), but I do tend to only remember the Packers related stuff!

Any other thoughts out there on the best and worst free agents?

Albert Haynesworth had to have been number 1 bust didn't he?

Julius Peppers would rank high up on the best free agents, he's had a very good 2010 season .

Good god I can't wait for the lock out to end , bring on September

Yes, the 100 million dollar man was voted worst free agent by NFL Network. Can't realy disagree

Reggie White is long before I was following football

But Drew Brees has to be up there, free agent from the Chargers to the Saints.
As far as I know he has injury issues with his shoulder and the Dolphins passed over him due to this.

I wouldnt have thought the Farve trade was on of the worst in the history of free agency. He got them within one play of the Superbowl and its not as if the Vikings gave him a five year contract for 100m it was a two year deal for a team that was in their Superbowl window, it was a trade made so that they could be successful in 2009 and 2010 and in fairness to Farve he played superbly in his first year before his body broke down.
Someone like Haynesworth and numerous Raiders free agents (Jevon Walker etc) are much more ripe for worst FA ever

Agree. Though part of me would love to say Favre was a complete flop after the Packers, I don't think that was the case at either the Jets or Vikings.

Its mad how so many still take a pop at Favre. Watched that show and Favre being up so high annoyed me. Jets couldn't get much out of him but lets face it the Jets with Favre there were crap anyway and the Vikes got one solid season out of him 1 game away from the bowl is good production from him.

Id say if anything the money they paid for him would be an issue. That contract for a 40 year old was a tad mad.

That was kind of the issue they made about it; it wasn't about his play, just that the Vikings paid him an incredible $16m last year, which seems a bit steep now in hindsight.

To be fair though, he was absolutely excellent the year before and I don't really think you could blame them for rolling the dice with him one more time like they did.
