Cancel sky,g'friend rejoin as new customer?

    Rang Sky in Jan,threatened to cancel,guy gave me half price for 6 months,said to ring in July and I would get another deal.Guess what-rang yesterday,no deals available so my package will go back to full price!

    I see Sky are doing half price for 3 months plus €25 cashback for new customers before July 18th.And I hear I can get cashback through fatcheese also.So can I cancel Sky,give them 31 days notice and then get my g'friend to sign up to Sky,through fatcheese, and arrange installation in 32 days time?It'll be the same bank a/c,same address so will she be seen as a new customer?If so,will the installer take away the old Sky+HD box?Or is that my property now that I'm out of contract?Thanks

    If you have had the equipment more than 12 months its yours. Would have said ok for getting the girlfriend signing up but you mentioned same bank account as the one you are using currently? Could pose a problem perhaps. If the surnames are different then you could get away with it. Give it a shot anyway.

    That's what we did. The sky was in the OH's name & he cancelled & I signed up as a new customer.

    The details are the same as in the adress, bank acc no, phone no from the house etc. We did that bout 3/4 months ago & we had no probs.

    The only difference is that I still use my maiden name so just the name on the acc is different

    I rang again today to cancel,guy offered me 25% off for 12 months which works out the same as the 50% off for 6 months offer I was on.Think I'll go with that,ring in a years time,cancel&get g'friend to sign up then as new customer.No doubt they'll have good offers for new customers then.
