    Well,

I am planning to buy a classical/spanish type guitar. Starting from just better than beginner (I can play A,E,G,C etc)

I was hoping to spend no more than 100euro...

Is it possible to get a decent sounding guitar for that price?

    Will be buying in Dublin
    Some good sales at Waltons...

    Any help appreciated :)

My advice would be to go second hand man. People put way too much stock in wanting to buy a guitar brand new. Have a look through boards sister site www.adverts.ie . You will be able to pick up a much higher quality guitar for the money you want to spend than if you go new.

I wouldn't agree. If you've only got around 100 to spend you'll have to take whatever you can get from adverts, and with budget acoustic guitars there can be massive differences between each individual guitar so you're just gonna have to try a few out. My advice would be to get someone you know who plays guitar to go with you to guitar shops and pick out one that feels/sounds the best for the price. You may have to stretch your budget a little bit but it'll definitely be worth it

do get someone who knows their guitars to have a look for you. second hand or new doesnt really matter except that the 2nd hand is a bit more time consuming when you re looking for it. but you should get better value. do bear in mind that there may be a very good reason why that guitar was put up in the attic in the first place. nothing worse then a bad guitar. good luck on your search. when you get the million pound record deal, they ll be throwing em at you..:)
