I'm potentially moving to Tallaght next month and working in Dundrum

So I just want to know what does anyone take this journey in the mornings? Would it be seriously long, hitting all the traffic?

Usually about 35-40 minutes from Tallaght to Dundrum in the mornings (leaving Tallaght between 7 and 8). Could extend a bit longer as the morning peak develops.

Thats around the time I'd be leaving so that's not bad at all

Do you actually use that bus in the mornings? Because I keep hearing it would take over an hour but thats from people who are just guessing

The earlier the better, it can vary from 25 mins for the first bus, to over an hour after 8.

I get it in Ballinteer from time to time and it takes 30 minutes to get there - that's the 0650 and 0705 departures.

As giblet says the earlier the better in term time. Right now no problems.

FTI, there are changes due to the 75 timetable and the introduction of a 175 bus route due as part of the network direct review.

No - 30 minutes to get from the terminus at the Square to Ballinteer! It's only 5 minutes from Ballinteer to Dundrum.

Sounds good, I dont start until 9 so I presume it'll take a bit longer for me than

I'm guessing you live in Tallaght so while you're here, I'm looking at an apartment in that Priors Gate place - is it still as empty and dead as it was a couple of years ago?

You are not reading my posts very carefully.

I get on an eastbound 75 in Ballinteer heading towards Dundrum, or see them every morning.

I know which bus it is from looking at the timetable and know therefore that it takes 30-35 minutes to get from Tallaght to my stop in Ballinteer and then another 5 or so minutes to get to Dundrum.

That means that it takes 35-40 minutes to get from Tallaght to Dundrum for buses leaving Tallaght at 0650 and 0705. Later on it will take longer as traffic builds, but still no more than 50 minutes.

I have told you all that you need to know for your trip on the 75!!!!

my brother lives in Priors Gate, he likes it in general.

i would think most people would like a quieter apartment block than one that's noisy! he hasn't had any hassles with loud parties or anything.

i wouldn't say the place is dead, car park is certainly full of cars.

The 75 is about 40 minutes to an hour from Tallaght to Dundrum. Having got the 75 every day for a year I'm going to warn that there are times, sometimes with annoying regularity, that the bus doesn't show up all or it runs late so it's certainly not the most dependable route. And Priors Gate is in a good part of Tallaght, I've heard good things about it.

    This reply has it all!

So basically if I give it an hour and 10/15 it'd be all good ya reckon?

Yep I'd say you'd be grand then. After a few weeks you'll be familiar with the unreliability of the bus so you'll quickly figure out the timings. Tuesday mornings tend to be the worst, especially if you're getting it between 10-11am as it doesn't usually show up. Otherwise I'm sure it'd be fine.
