1961 Vintage

Gloomtastic!

It's my brother's 50th Birthday this weekend and I thought about getting him a 50-year old bottle of something. However a trip to our local offy drew a blank.

Anyone know where I could get a bottle of 1961 wine, port or whiskey in Dublin?

Price limit €100 btw, looking on UK websites this shouldn't be a problem! It doesn't have to taste great, it just needs to be the right age.

Will be very difficult to find something in Dublin. Online would be your only bet i would think. 1961 was far from a classic vintage as afar as Bordeaux and Burgundy was concerned so they might be difficult to come across at the best of times (especially for a 100 euro) Unless you come across a specially released whiskey from that year, celtic whiskey shop would be your best bet but if such a thing exists...expect to pay a lot more than 100.

Armagnac from 1961 (€200) in Dublin City Centre:

Armagnac is a kind of brandy, so not sure if that is what you're looking for, but should be acceptable to most whiskey drinkers.
