can anybody tell me the steps to take upgrading tails from a fuse board to the esb meter, ie upgrading 10 sq tails to 16 sq.

what are the ebs charges as the meter connection point is sealed unlike new meters that have an isolator sw and is a reci/ecssa cert required, since you can connect and disconnect from new esb meters without them been present??

    cheers

usually what we do is we make the fuseboard replacement or what ever the job is and connect our new tails to there old tails. ( using the existing main isolator if possible) you then inform the esb who will come out and connect the new tails into the meter. you mite have to go back and remove the old isolator from the wall after. think there may be a charge and a cert is usually required afaik beacuse they consider it a reconnection.

i doubt they will re-connect without cert

i've done a few upgrades lately-the esbn callout is about 160

nice money if you can get it:pac:

sure they will probably charge u even more to change the meter! and possibly request it to be moved outside! unfortunately its there rules. and the meters which allow the electrician make the final connections are since the establishment of reci and ecssa putting more responsibiltiy on sparks for their own installations

if you're not registered -they'll be ok if they're suitable for load

small domestic -electric cooker ,no shower 10's might still be ok

if you're registered you normally upgrade for re-wires and fuseboard replacement
