Would the gaa do the sensible thing and play the All Ireland Senoir Football 4th Round Quilfer Wexford vs Limerick or Waterford on Sunday 24th July at 12.00pm in Semple Stadium Thurles preceeding the Hurling Quarter finals
(Dublin vs Limerick 2.00 & Waterford vs Galway 4.00).

It would make sense for both Limerick and Waterford supporters (really depends on who wins the 3rd round game) and Galway and Dublin supporters wont travel in mega high numbers so there would be room for Wexford supporters.

Limerick would be on about the dual players if they comr through the 3rd round game and therefore the football would have to played on the Sat 23rd.

12 o clock would be a bit too early for the football though wouldn't it?

im sure limerick wouldnt be too happy to give up.home advantage. like it or not home advantage plays a big part in the qualifiers and getting it is a big plus.

if the roles reveresed i wouldnt think that waterford would give up the chance of bringing another division 3 team to dungarvan for a spot in the last round of qualifiers

Round four would be neutral venues anyways so the teams won't have any home advantage to protect.

Ah yes, sorry I misread the post.

Would make a bit more sense then for sure, but as someone else said 12pm would be very early for KO for a senior football championship game, especially one at the last 12 stage of the competition.

They'd have to consider moving the hurling matches back to a later spot, something like 2pm/4pm/6pm for the 3 games. I'm sure the hurling fans wouldnt be too happy about getting home that late on a Sunday night.

Good idea alright, but cant see it working on a Sunday. If the games were on a Saturday however.....

Makes sense alright which means it probably wont happen because this is the GAA we're talking about

    Nonsense,

Obviously you weren't there in 2009 when Dublin outnumbered Limerick and Galway in Thurles.Dublin WILL bring a big crowd next Sunday week.

According to he Croke Park website, the round 4 qualifiers will be played there next Saturday and Sunday. Could be just a placeholder though, it's still TBC on the GAA website.

As I said, it just seems to be a provisionally fixed for Croke Park at the minute and could easily change. The fact that there is still a 3rd round game to be played next week could affect it. A definite venue should be confirmed by Monday/ Tuesday. That being said, I think the prospect of a triple header in Thurles, even if it makes sense, would be very, very unlikely to happen.
