A One Night Stand with Taylor Negron

What – A rare and intimate event with a great talent - a fundraiser in support of Dublin’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender resource centre.

Who – Taylor Negron: character actor, comedian, writer and artist. Taylor has appeared in over 40 Hollywood movies and numerous TV appearences. A native of LA, he has been an insider in Hollywood film and theatre all of his life and is full of hilarity about it. Film and comedy buffs, gay or straight, will very much appreciate him and get his extraordinary mind.

Where – Venue at Outhouse, 105 Capel Street, Dublin 1. Seats 65. Tickets €8 and any further contribution to help Outhouse’s work is welcome. Contact (01) 873 4999 or info@outhouse.ie for tickets, or call by to pick one up.

    When – 9pm, Friday July 29th, 2011.
Taylor Negron will be available for interview on morning of Friday 29th July in central Dublin. Contact Aengus Carroll (details below) to arrange.

Why – To help raise awareness and support of the work that Outhouse does within the LGBT community. Also to bring the new venue in Outhouse to wider attention as a space for LGBT (and LGBT-friendly) cultural activity. As the only venue of its sort (specifically run by the community for the community, and not solely as a commercial venture) it provides a natural home for national and international LGBT artists and performers to interact with a targeted audience.

Edinburgh Festival 2010 review, The Scotsman
Following his Green Room performances at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival, The Scotsman wrote: "He is a writer, stage and movie actor, comedian and a storyteller to whom I could listen for the rest of my life. His writing is beautiful, fluid, evocative and compelling, and his delivery matches it perfectly. Negron has a way of letting you feel the whole drama of every story he tells. If there is one performance I have seen that epitomises the phrase "less is more", it is Negron's.... the kind of performer who reminds you what "presence" is”.

Outhouse is genuinely thrilled to welcome Taylor Negron for a One Night Stand on Friday, July 29th. Taylor is a character actor, writer, storyteller (at times very edgy) and comedian of serious stature in Hollywood (he also does some gorgeous painting as profiled in the Huffington Post this June - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/patricia-ciaffa-peyser/all-kidding-aside-taylor-_b_875493.html). He has appeared in over 40 movies (Milo in the The Last Boy Scout with Bruce Willis, Three Days to Vegas, Entry Level, etc) and numerous TV shows (including Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Tonight Show, etc). The list is very long, as is his career and contact book. Lucille Ball was a teacher of his, and a life long hero. Taylor’s may not be a household name that you recognise immediately, but when you see him you’ll go ‘oh yeah, I know him’ (he gets that a lot!). But he is extremely well known and loved for his orignial mind and extraordinary talent in the US. On hearing of the work that Outhouse does, he immediately said he’d love to do a fundraiser for us. This promises to be a very special evening. Tickets: €8 http://taylornegron.com/

Outhouse is Dublin’s LGBT resource centre, based at 105 Capel Street, Dublin 1.

It is a community resource constituted with charitable status. Outhouse exists to provide a space for LGBT people to meet, organise and over 50 diverse groups meet here involved in areas such as health, law, policy, support and activism. Lately, Outhouse opened an intimate theatre space on the premises (seats 65) that is fully-equipped for performance.
