38/38a/38b (38b - morning peak only) all come down (New) Cabra Road onto the North Circular before turning down Berkeley Road towards the city and Lower/Upper Baggot Street, probably your best bet.

That's my commuter route and very handy it is too! I'd get the 38/a/b by choice but often get teh 46a as it comes more often, then i get out on Kildare Street and walk up.
The Dublin Bikes are good too, I get one outside of the Mater and drop it on Merrion Sq - takes about 15-20 mins.

    Cheers for the replies.

I am getting the bus from phibs from across from eddie rockets just down from Subway.

Does the 46a go that route or will I have to go down to doyles corner??

    Hey,
Both the 46a and all the 38's go from around the corner on North circular road - outside the Spar (i think it's a spar/centra). I've yet to find a bus that goes from opp Eddie Rockets to that side of town.

Also, 140 comes through Phibsborough from Finglas, its last stop is on Wilton Terrace if you're down that end of Baggot St and there's a stop on Kildare St if you're closer to Stephen's Green

And the 140 stops at the bus stop you're referring to beside Subway too
