Considering a holiday in Feb/March next year, just wondering if anyone has been to both or either islands and wanted to give an opinion...

depends on what you are looking for, gran canaria particulary the southwest of the island has far better beaches than tenerife, its also warmer, tenerife is the more scenic and probably has the better watersports/water based options, its pretty easy to do both anyway, 3 sailings daily between the islands, takes about 3hrs

I'd stress this. Never been to Tenerife, but I've been to GC twice, once in Puerto Rico (which was fine) and once in Puerto de Mogán (which I really liked). But it really depends on what you're after.
