I am currently on the hunt for a decent M4 that is:

    • Full Metal or close to Full metal
    • RIS
    • Sound Internals

I was looking at the G&G Raider can anyone suggest an M4 or variant that is decent for €265 (Max), I would rather get all my options on the table before I go out and grab one that I hate like I did with my first AEG. :pac:

    Hey Ghost,
I dont have a Raider but i did get one of those G&G Chione(White) M4's when Hobby had them for €160. It's plastic(doesnt bother me) but all the internals are really decent. Has blowback and internals like the more expensive ones. Best €160 ive spent in airsoft. I just repainted it, put a hk416 grip on it and put a 6.03 tightbore barrel and a Prometheus hopup rubber in it. You'd never know it was originally white. Havent had a problem with it and i use it a fair bit. I originally put an M14 Prometheus barrel in it with a silencer as a barrel extension and the range was unreal. I have an M4 length in it now though, but range and accuracy is still nearly as good. Hope that helps a bit :)

Both myself and a friend got G&G Raider-L's recently, and are both very happy with them. They're not metal-bodied, though, the receiver is made from nylon-fibre, so feels like high-quality plastic. The rails (and it's got lots of rail) are all metal though. The only notable negative about it (and it's a pretty minor one) is that the forward A-post sight can't really be removed without disabling the pneumatic blowback system that the gun has. Not a huge deal, but it's worth thinking about if you want to put a red-dot sight or something on it (you might want a scope riser rail, for example).

The internals are the same as top-end G&G, but it's cheaper because of the non-metal body (and lighter to carry around all day too). They're available at lots of retailers for €250-270 or so depending on inclusion of battery and so on.

I'd heartily recommend the Raider-L to anyone after an M4-a-like, they feel great, really nicely built with excellent stock internals, and all for a pretty remarkable price given the quality you're getting. I assume that the standard Raider (the short one) and the longer one (the XL) are pretty much the same except for overall length. Have a check in the reviews section, pretty sure there's some stuff in there that'll be useful to you.

Raiders are the way forward unless you can afford top tech gear, also Shidosha
when you say A-post you mean front sight yes? what you mean that you can't remove it by disabling the blowback? justun screw the screws that hold it o at the rails no?

Yeah I have been looking at this one:

    http://www.hobbyairsoft.ie/products.php?cmd=detail&id=EGR-015-RD-DST-COM&cat=&subcat=07

I'm going to buy it as soon as I get the money it's going to be my first gun I think it's the best out of all the ones I have seen, there is also a black version on the same site somewhere.

I have a raider and from what i can see there are no screws on the front sight, its part of the whole barrel.

the new G&G M4 combat machine looks good too, the front and rear sights are flip up not sure when they wold be availible

The front sight has no screws. It actually has pins but they are covered by a coat of paint. You can chip off the paint and then gently using something like a very small screwdriver and hammer (preferably those plastic hammers) give it a couple of *VERY GENTLE* taps and the pins come out. Having said that i must also mention (as i was also told when i asked about this) that the front sight actually holds the rail too so if you wonna remove it you ll have to replace it with a foldable version. What i did was i got a scope riser and im pretty happy with it :D

Here is the thread about this

    P.S. I love my G&G GR15-L to bits :D

G&G is definitely the way to go
I use my G&G Raider for CQB and in the year and a half of hell I have put it through I just had to replace my trigger contacts :)
Front sight is part of the outer barrel so you would have to get a new outer barrel
