I am a bit confused as to how this works. If i failed a module and i also think i failed continuous assessment do i repeat both?

The only continuous assessment email i received was one off a module that only has continuous assessment and no exam.

Am I right in saying that for the other modules i just do the exam and if i pass the exam then i pass the repeat?

I am fairly confused as any time i contact a lecturer they are out of office while in the other course (which is just continuous assessment) i need my work handed in by next week.

    Hey Peter,

I failed both an exam and the continuous assessment in a module and I was told by someone in admin that the module will now be decided on the exam only so basically the continuous assessment is irrelevant. I'm not sure what the story is with modules that just have continuous assessment only though. Best bet is to contact one of the admin officers in your course's department and they should be able to tell you what you need to know!

Anyone know if this is still the case?

found this on UCD website wonder if NUIG has same policy, I hope so.

The course work shall only be
counted for the first examination offering of any course. The second offering examination mark
shall, therefore, be based entirely on the second offering examination paper.

Would it not be easier to just email the lecturer for the module?

Then I'd contact your course director. You're leaving it late in the day.

Yup story of my life everything late. Anyway hes out of office too would you believe suppose that time of year.

Anyway hoping its the same policy as UCD. Or no masters for me. Had exam today fairly sure I managed to get over 50 which is the past mark but if zero assessment marks brings be down im finished. Would seem kinda unfair as my overall result for the course is capped at a pass now anyway ie cant get honours.

Is there any mention in the course outline on Blackboard?
