Weird gmail problem

I was setting up a info@sample.com email address to be managed through gmail.
For testing, when sending from my own gmail address the mails are returned to me as permanent failures.
However if I try it from a few alternative gmail addresses, or a yahoo address, they deliver successfully.
So I'm not sure if this is a weird problem with my own set up, or something on the info@sample.com set up that is rejecting my mails?
fwiw, I have multiple inboxes set up on my account for different addresses, but even sending from the original address of that gmail account fails.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!0
