A survey has been launched to get the views of Irish Rugby Supporters on international matches etc.

    See article here: http://www.irishrugby.ie/news/23402.php

Only takes a few minutes to do and contributors can win RBS Six Nations tickets in the process.

    Cheers.

Just did it. Will the results be made pubic by any chance? As in a culmination of stats being polled from the survey.

    Be interesting to see.

Done - For me the most important thing is trying to GET tickets, do many tickets get given out to clubs, or are the majority available on ticketmaster?

Edit: One thing i can see coming from this is Cheerleaders :P

    Did it.

Would love to see the results.

I dare say at best all we will see is some cherry picked results though. :-(

Some good ideas in there, espeically liked the questions getting at loyalty schemes for international tickets.

    Interesting survey.
Fair play to the IRFU for seemingly copping on to fans qualms.

Did the survey. Pretty decent but felt a bit caught out with couple options. Can't remember which ones now. I would really like to see results.

I got it emailed to me earlier and thought why bother, then I actually opened the link and found it a decent enough survey.

I can imagine ticket prices and availability will be the main topics of concern, hope they reward provincial supporters as well as International supporters if they go for a loyalty card.

One question on what you support had no option for AIL, thought that was strange.

Like all above, hope the results are made public.

I just completed it. Like others have said, it'd be interesting to see if it actually brings about a change in ticket pricing!

the only question i can remember clearly is how optimistic are you about irelands performance over the next 12 months. obviously very optimistic

Got to the bit about ticket pricing - about two thirds of the way in and the shutters came down. Life's too short and sure I'd probably be caught for child minding if I did win the match tickets. Thanks for posting anyway. :D

Good opportunity to give the IRFU direct answers and a little bit more besides seeing as they asked us - god bless 'em - my issure are ticket pricing, availability, rugby fan rewards for AIL members and province ST holders through priority + more reasonable cost for tickets - worthwhile I hope and maybe me and the kids will get a better chance of getting a ticket we can afford for 6N games

The survey is well designed, there are some opportunities for some 'frank' answers especially around ticket pricing.

only wanted if they come from south africa. specifically from Natal, on loan from the sharks.

Please no cheerleaders, tacky beyond belief. Good survey, plenty of opportunity to er, sound off.

yeah no cheerleaders. while they do look great in a sunny south africa it's a different story in our climate.

my main points were the ticket prices, ticketmaster charges, ticket availability, less of the loud music when a team scores, and less of the pre match on field "entertainment".

most of these relate to leinster and the aviva but i don't want them for ireland games

Ireland - Where Even the Cheerleaders Have to Wear Snoods

Good survey, hope this leads to some change.

There wasnt much on the list in the way of decent pre match or half time entertainment. Fireworks, singers, talent shows, cheerleader. All dirt.

Midget wrestling is what they need.

Anyone a member of the supporters club ? I was lookin at it but 50 quid is a bit steep for a badge, a sticker and access to wallpapers.

The only think that would interest me is the "chance to win or buy tickets" bit. But I dont like the fact that you have to pay 50 Euro for a "chance" to buy tickets.

I was when it was relevant for giving you a pretty solid chance of getting tickets back when games were selling out and tickets were on EBay for stupid money. No real benefit aside from that I felt. Tickets are easy enough to get a hold of now for any game once you're vigilant.

Yeah this year i used it for nothing...couldnt get tickets to six nations for England and France and every other game had tickets available outside the supporters club so felt a tad robbed.

Got a nice keyring though :D

    Question that was left out

How do you feel about paying a service fee on ticket purchases that can be as much 25% of the value of the ticket

    1.Don't mind
    2.Nuetral
    3.Yet another hidden rip off
    4.Shafted

    I'd select 3 myself

On the Supporters Club, the €50 is not a subscription to gain the chance to get tickets. Chance to buy tickets are part of what membership entails. Not its raison d'etre.
Before the Supporters Club came into existance, the only way to get a ticket was through a school, club or corporate.
Now before any home international ticket goes on sale to the general public, it will be first put on sale to the Supporters Club.

There are events held around each tournament (ie. Six Nations or Nov Tests) that only Supporters Club members may attend. Meeting the coaches, Player Q&As, open training sessions, special offers. At the Aviva itself on a match day, there is a Supporters Club event held on the Corporate level when possible. The entire south stand corporate section is dedicated to the Supporters Club members only. Went well at the Samoan game. This year it will be at the French Guinness Summer Series game and there will be more added to the schedule events for the day than the Samoan game.
There is also, each year, a charter flight to an away Six Nations game takes place. Always great fun.

This is an old chestnut and from what I've read or heard from members most if not all joined it for getting tickets.

Surely the "raison d'etre" is decided by the individual on why they choose to join a particular club rather than the club deciding on it.

BTW, I'm not knocking the club's activities but being based in Limerick and with travel costs, timing of some events and the method of putting tickets on sale for members are my reasons for not rejoining the club.

That all sounds fairly good but it doesn't really have me wetting myself with excitement at the thought of joining the supporters club

Just pointing out that there is more to it than tickets and reminding folk of how things were before it was started.

Id say its the main reason that 75% of the membership joined though

    Told 'em to:

    1. Turn down that damned public address racket. Give us the scores and substitutions then shut your gob.

    2. Rejig ticket allocation procedures to allow a broader base the chance to attend matches. Part club / Part Ticketmaster.

Was a supporters club member throughout the Croke park years, going to everything I could get my hands on (Once even paying 115 euro for a premium ticket v Argentina!!)

My main gripe is the lack of realistic seating categories, and the opaque ticket allocation through the supporters club. Why the f**k should I pay 100 euro for a ticket in the corner when others cherry pick tickets between the 22s for the same price?

I hate paying the pimps at Ticketmaster their booking fee, but at least I can make a call on the tickets in front of me before I purchase.

They can have their 100 snots a ticket as long as they stop treating the supporters club as suckers to hoover up the less desirable non-premium tickets at the same price.
