Is khat legal in Ireland?

    Khat. Somalis love it. It's legal in the UK. What about over here?

    It wasn't in the past, AFAIK it's still illegal.

    Interestingly it falls very low on the chart of dependency and harm; from the same page on wiki.

    It gets a very bad name from it's association with Somalia but it is not a major factor there. The fact is that the country is completely fúcked and they can't lay blame on a drug for it.

    Doesn't matter, at this point there is very little chance that anything that turns up here and is viewed as a "drug" by the crowd who went picketing headshops will be legal for very long, but it's illegal so it doesn't matter.

    A neighbour of mine had some of it in his flat before, I had no interest in trying it, I prefer the Weed..

    Side affects are awful - you wander off for days, get stuck up trees, dash out in front of cars and when the munchies hit you head to the chipper and say "I can haz cheezburger".

    Be careful OP, curiousity about Khat can kill you.
