Online savings

    Can anyone tell me the best place to save online?

    I have heard a lot about RaboDirect and looked into it a bit and was considering opening an account to save a few quid in.

    But I'm with AIB and they have an online deposit 7 account. With 3.25% AER variable for under 10k, and 2.25 with Rabo.

    Whats AER variable mean and seeing as I'll be under the 10k is the 3.25 with AIB the best I'm likely to find ? Or should I stick my monies somwhere other than online savings ? I have abut 2k plus will be adding to it in dribs and drabs.

    What would you do if you had 2k to put somewhere?
