Im grand lad and yourself, i was between two minds, a 3d or a upgraded version of my current tv (probadly a 32'' 100hz tv ). Im cautious of the 3d tv's cause there only released and the hardware will get better as time goes on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭mystic86

the thing is that to get the tv i have, ignoring the 3D function, would only have cost 100 euro less... so basically 100 euro for 3D function, plus 50 for the glasses.

150 euro extra to have 3D.... price of a few games

i don't intend in using it all the time, far from it!!!

but I will get the time of a few games worth anyways!

    I have this http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/plasma-tv/PS59D550C1MXXY/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail

Absolutely loving Wipeout, Gran Turismo and COD Black Ops.

Thinking that 3D's future is in gaming and not film

Have Samsung myself 46inch Smart LED TV D6530 hooked up to me PS3 & SKY 3D pack, defo the way forward with COD Black Ops & Gran Turismo....

Picture quality immense & gaming in 3D is little surreal at first but savage when I got the hang of it!

    Link to my TV.....http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UE46D6530WKXXU

i don't own black ops, i'd never buy that

i bought gt5 couple weeks ago but haven't played it much, but I wasn't as impressed with the 3D in that as in other games (and found the steering way too hard, cars won't bloody turn :) )

how did you get it for that price???

the cheapest price for the tv on amazon is 489 sterling, tv only but they won't deliver to here...

if you choose other sellers and select amazon it costs 513 sterling...

i don't see any bundles either...

did you buy items seperate? as in 513 sterling for the tv, then buy megamind and 2 pairs of glasses seperate? if so I don't see how it could have been less than 600 euro.. I'm confused...?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,672 ✭✭✭tonydude

lol it was £517 and theres a promotion going on with them that you get 2 glasses and film for free.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭mystic86

517? through amazon delivery? as in they delivered directly to you for that price?

and they give you 2 free pairs of glaases and a movie??!! i don't see that offer!

    link?

how did i miss that?! im raging! i wonder when it started, the offer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭mystic86

    grrrrr

    found it

i didn't get this offer, and I only have this tv less than 3 weeks... so disgusted

i paid about a tenner more than you just for the tv, without the 2 pairs of glasses and the movie

    such a horrible feeling

 get onto amazon to see if they'll send the glasses onto you the offer has been on with a while asfar as i know. To avail of it you must select the tv and glasses and have em in your basket and upon checkout the price of the glasses and film is dropped. How much did you pay for the glasses ?

Killzone 3 and Black Ops look fantastic in 3D, GT5 not so brilliant.

Fcuk sake lads I'm supposed to be getting married next year. If i get a 3D TV the missus will not only cut my balls off, she'll feed them to me.

But 700 quid for a nice bit of kit like that maybe just too hard to ignore.

If she kicks me out i might have to kip on some ones sofa.

i have been in contact with amazon several times since but they won't bend the rules for me

man, to have started this thread, mentioned my tv model number and then have someone on here buy it only a few weeks after me and get it for about 595 euro including two pairs of glasses and a 3d blu-ray when it cost me 650 euro for the TV and one pair of glasses... so bloody annoying

not even 3 weeks since i got it

    :(

its even cheaper now too, can get the tv, 2 pairs of glasses and blu-ray for 570 euro..... absolute bargain

I've seen people both here and friends who are choosing 3D plasma tv's instead of 3D LED tv's. Which is better?
I'm not sure, when I went to get my 3DTV one of the questions the sales guy asked me was "what will be the main use of the TV, TV viewing, gaming or PC monitor?"
When I said PC monitor he recommended I go for an LCD model, and he also said that for PS3 gaming a plasma is better.

For someone who hasn't got a 3D Tv...How good is it? I have Samsung 32" Full HD LCD and its good...But the 3D has caught my eye.. I would how much would I get on a site like Adverts for my Current TV?

Also I wouldn't have sky 3D to take full advantage of the 3D TV.

How does Fifa look in 3D?

I presume I can download 3D movies & put them on the hard drive to put on my PS3?

    Cheers

Do Amazon deliver TVs to Ireland?

Seen the new Samsungs in Harvey Normans the weekend and I left drooling..

Any drawbacks so far? I'd love it for the odd 3D movie but mainly for gaming GT5, Uncharted 3 etc

I read on bargain alerts before(can't find post) that they will only deliver up to 32" and no bigger.

I also believe it has to be amazon.co.uk and not one of their retailers. Open to correction on this though.

A lot of the comments on Amazon suggest the 3D isn't great on the Samsungs. Are we talking cinema quality 3D?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,957 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

i got the Panasonic Gt30, one of the best tvs out at the moment. Superb price on it too

Suppose to be great for 3D

Great on mine anyway, and a great review on avforums, I think it was.

Anyone know what would be the cheapest 3DTV out there and where to get it from?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭mystic86

    try amazon man.

so i tried the new god of war demo from the collection volume II, I have to say the 3D in it looks great!!

however I can't get into the God of War series! button bashing and stupid camera angles and stupid right stick that makes him do an awkward roll instead of turn the camera around so I can see what is going on
As well as these, there's something else I haven't quite put my finger on that is preventing me from getting into this series...

but for anyone wondering about the 3D implementation - from the demo it looks great!!
