Tax Disc for Test

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering, my test is Aug 9th, my current tax disc is 8/11, am I going to have to renew it for the test?

I know you get the month 'grace period' and I was planning on selling the car as soon as possible after the test, as I'm moving away.

All I can find online is this :

Motor Tax - valid discs must be displayed when presenting for your Driving Test

From Monday 3rd January 2011 the RSA are requiring that all vehicles presenting for a driving test in all categories display a current valid motor tax disc. Where current valid tax discs are not displayed the driving test will not be conducted and the test applicant will forfeit their fee


What do you not understand about that?

Your tax is valid until the end of August the new disk must be displayed from 1/9/11 so you will still be taxed on the date of your test.

What I'm confused about is -

Tax disc says 8/11, which is until August 1st 2011, but I know you have a month to get another tax disc, but you still pay from August 1st.

Therefore without changing it, am I technically taxed?

The disc is valid until the end of the month, ie 31st August.
