Six-spot Burnet (Was - Fly ID please)

Was near the coast today, and i saw one of these feeding on flowers. It had a black body with red dots on its wings. A type of fly or wasp maybe?

would they be common in ireland? or they just around the coast?

never seen one inland

i'm no expert but i think there common enough around the east coastal area anyway, don't think they come inland. heres a link.

Common and widespread throughout Ireland. They favour damp meadows.

There is a coastal bias with regard to records, but as Srameen mentioned, Common and Widespread.
