the course is very good - 2 years with 7 months work experience. from my little knowledge, I think it is approx 16-20 hours however there are group projects, plenty essays and presentations and a minimum quota for attendance

Hi all I too am very interested in the BSW course. I am applying for a place on the 2012 course. Any tips on MSAP exam and interview? I'd imagine quite a large percentage go head to head for this course. Any info on the course itself, timetable would be great. Thanks

What year is she in?? :) Im excited but a tad nervous all the same! Any idea on what the first year time table is like? Or the age diversity within the group? Are you attending any of the upcomming workshops? Questions Questions Questions! lol

Hi Phoebe this is last years time table : http://timetable.ucc.ie:8010/reporting/individual?objectclass=programme+of+study&idtype=id&identifier=BSW1%0D%0A&t=programme+of+study+individual&days=1-7&weeks=5-16;20-31&periods=1-20&template=programme+of+study+individual

There is a link for this years too but I cant get into it im presuming they are not finalised yet! I have been doing alot of googling but cant seem to come up with any more info. Lindtee is a member of boards and going into second year of this degree (I hope lindtee wont mind me mentioning her) but I got some great advice regarding the interview process etc so she may answer any other questions you might have!

I come from a retail background where I have supported special needs staff and have supported a neighbour of mine that has 3 autistic children . I felt my lack of voluntary work may have proven as a hurdle after meeting others on the interview day as they did a lot in comparison to myself but I voiced my concern in my interview . It was stressed in the interview that attendance was vital and of course comittment . The interview was based around knowledge and opinion of social issues also there was a group interview which was accessed through out !! Of course the results of msap and references are very important too!! The main thing is to be yourself and try not to panic. What is meant for you won't pass you ! Go for it

    hi all
when will the new timetable for social work 2011/2012 be available ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 beirne83

Hey just wondering if the actual timetable reflects the timetable for 2010 as up on UCC website?

2nd year - Mon Tues and Wed in college and Thurs and fri off??

3rd year - Mon Tues Wed and Thurs in college and Fri off? Semester 2 placement.

4th year - Semester 1 Placement. Tues and Wed in college and Mon Thurs and Fri off?

Where have previous students completed their placements?
I was told by a lady in UCC placements for Bsw that it's possible they will accommodate people on placement e.g. I am from Roscommon and it would be great to get a placement up around there.
    Any info would be great.
    Thanks
