Enniscrone.....it has lovely sandy beaches. Waterpoint (kids play pool and slides), kids play ground, caravan park etc.

Nearest to Ballina and North mayo. Sligo is 35 mins north.

    Westport is a good hub:

    - Range of high quality hotels and B&Bs

    - Lively, attractive town centre, compact to walk around with kids

    - Lots of traditional bars, live music

    - Great selection of restaurants and coffee shops

    - Westport House "Pirate Adventure Park" for kids, mini zoo, steam train, rides, museum.

    - Endless scenic attractions:
Clew bay drives, Crogh Patrick, Clare Island, Achill, Cong, Ashford Castle, Kilemore Abbey, Delphy, Doolough valley, Killary fjord, Connemara national park all within 1hr drive.

    - 7 of the countries most beautiful beaches within 30 mins drive.

    - New Westport greenway cycle/walking path, and Great Western Greenway to Mulranny and Achill. Several bike rental shops.

    - Cinema, several very good spas & pools for dull days. "Pick a pot and paint" very good for kids also.

Enniscrone, I grew up a 20 minute drive away and go there as many weekends as I can with the dogs when I am home for a walk on the beach. Ballina is only 10/15 mins away.
