*Smackdown opens with World champion Randy Orton being interviewed by Josh Mathews inside the ring. He discusses his match against Christian at Money in the Bank. Christian appears on the Titantron and says he will become champion again. Christian says that Orton's father was a joke and he's just as pathetic as Cowboy Bob Orton. Orton says what is pathetic is Christian holding the title for five days.

*WWE Intercontinental champ Ezekiel Jackson defeated Ted DiBiase.

*Backstage, Cody Rhodes warns Ted DiBiase that if he loses one more match, Rhodes will personally put a bag on his head.

    *Cody Rhodes defeated Daniel Bryan.

*Teddy Long tells a referee to warn Mark Henry and Big Show that if there is any physicality between the two when they have a face to face later, their match at the PPV will be canceled.

*Kane comes into Long's office and thanks him for the match against Randy Orton. Kane says he doesn't feel like a monster anymore and asks Long what is happening to him. Long tells Kane that he's scaring the hell out of him.

*Backstage, someone has spraypainted Randy Orton's private bus with "ORTON SUX. TEDDY LONG = MORON. CHRISTIAN = UNCROWNED WORLD CHAMPION." Christian comes across it and acts shocked and says he can't imagine anyone would do this.

*Sin Cara defeated Sheamus. Cara messed up his entrance. Wade Barrett was on commentary at ringside and attacked Cara after the match.

*Christian is in the casino with Randy Orton's wallet. He pulls out $1,000 and says he's going toplay for Orton's daughter's college fund. He plays but loses and says Orton's luck has just run out.

*WWE Divas champ Kelly Kelly defeated Rosa Mendes.

*Johnny Curtis promo backstage. He says soon, the cat will be out of the bag, but pulls an elephant out of it and yells at an assistant in the room. He tells the man that the elephant in the room isn't until next week and rips up the stuffed animal.

    *Justin Gabriel defeated Heath Slater.

*Kane defeated World champion Randy Orton via countout when Orton saw Christian coming out and Orton chased him off.

Sheamus losing to Sin Cara?!..Not sure where they're going with that one other than having used everyone else to try and make him look good. Sounds like an odd show all round.

because winning and losing don't matter in WWE.

    apparently.

Don't care if Sheamus lost or not but they must give him the MitB.He's the most improved Wrestler in wwe over the last year & has had some great matches lately. I've a feeling Botchy Sin Cara will win the match cause he's a Triple H pet project.

Yeah I guess it was just to remind people about the participants in the MITB match hence Barrett getting involved as well. Sheamus should really be winning the match Sunday though.

I hope Sheamus does win at MITB but I've a feeling it will be Barrett :(

God I hope not he's pure Rubbish he reminds me of JBL in the ring. Even if he does win it he'll probably get the usual wwe push that lasts for 3 months & then back to the midcard with him.

reading this thread sounds like the convo I had with DB and Walt on the podcast this week. Sheamus/Barett would be the favs for the SD MITB match imo but I honestly dont think Sheamus needs it and think he will be in and around the main event of whatever show he is on for years to come anyway. Barett would be my favourite as it would give him back momentum now that he is on his own and away from the IC title and Zeke. My outside choice was Sin Cara though because as the result v Sheamus shows he is getting a big push and doesent lose much, there were rumours that when he signed he was guaranteed a main event push and he is HHH's new project. The final person we thought has a genuine shout was Daniel Bryan even though I dont expect it though we all want it.

In theory Sheamus shouldn't need it as he's a good worker, fairly over etc but he could do with another world title run some time soon if he's to continue looking a credible main event force. The amount of times he's lost to Orton in particular on Raw and Smackdown is a bit ridiculous too.

I was thinking a face needs to win (Kane, Bryan and Sin Cara) but if Sheamus does win I am sure he could get over as a face given time

I predict Heel SD win and Face Raw win.

Oh man, that would be an awesome MITB finish for the Punk/Cena match. Punk wins and is about to leave with the title, when the Raw MITB winner comes to cash it in. But, Punk manages to beat him. But then the SD MITB winner comes out and beats Punk.

Barrett has unfinished history with Punk

As far as WWE writers are concerned there are only 3 ways Kane can be booked.

    1) As a Hellacious Monster, Usually a heel in this role but the crowd loving a man who will chokeslam people through a table etc can make it work as a face potentially.

    2) As the Undertakers Biatch... I mean brother. The brothers of destruction are the 2nd way they book him even though he usually doesent have an individual character in this role.

    3) a silly big face like he is now where occasionally he seems very angry but overall he is the ugh loveable monster who plays an imaginary flute with Santino or trys having relationsips with folk like Tori

Christian was on form tonite on the mic pity he cut the top half off a blue overalls & tried to pass it as a shirt that was a comedown from the nice jacket he wore last week. Thought it was a good episode overall i'm interested in where Wade vs Sheamus is going.Sin Cara wasn't bad this week but Sheamus has improved so much its amazing.I wonder when Sin Cara is ever going to have his first proper program(not counting the Chavo flop) every week its a new opponent he just seems to be having Random matches with. Without much of a backround or storyline to the match.Pity Bryan lost again but who's even counting anymore.

I reckon if Sheamus does not win MITB we get him v Sin Cara at Summerfest.

They may be tempted to do Wade v Sin Cara either if Sheamus is busy with Orton but with Wade's limited ability in the ring and Sin Cara still getting used to the WWE style, that is a match that could be a disaster.

After what happened when tonites main event ended i'm thinking Kane could screw Orton in the title match,I doubt they'd have Christian beat him any way convincingly & it seems the rivalry may continue cause Smackdown likes to drag things out a bit.

Sheamus has been great though all nationality bias aside. I know it was felt he got pushed too far too soon but he's managed to still have a very good role for himself after his initial push and is obviously a guy who will keep working and do whatever he's told to. I said this on the relevant thread but Orton's infamous interview was instructive "I wish we had five more guys like Sheamus" and he's pretty hard to please by all accounts. Would love to see him with a world championship again for a while.

Catching SD for the first time in a while. Cody Rhodes is great. I'm glad he's been allowed to develop further on SD before being shipped off to RAW and lost in the shuffle.

    No Uso's.

    Boo.

I used the fast forward a few times. Kane v Orton was never going to hold my interest. Same for Khali and the Canadian, Kelly Kelly match or Show Henry.

DM-ICE face five all performed well again this week, Sheamus, Bryan, Cody, Cara and Christian.

Cody could do a lot with the MITB briefcase.

I don't think it can be stated often enough just how terrible the commentary on this show is. It's nothing but the three of them bickering the entire time, it's insufferable. Usual decent Smackdown with good wrestling, though Smackdown continues to be one of the most miss-able shows in wrestling history.

I must agree with you saying its miss able cause the matches seem to repeat themselves each week despite being entertaining. I think if they didn't it could help the ratings a small bit. The commentating is bad too, fingers crossed for no Booker at tonites ppv knowing well he's probably doing it.
