Destruction of North Laos

    Another example of destruction within Laos,this part of the country used to be so beautiful less than a decade ago but its being turned into a disneyland casino and the locals have been shafted.
    I was up in this area about 8 years ago and the place was so pleasant and lush with huge forests,unfortunately the forests are almost gone with the help of Chinese money and dodgy Lao officials.

    I read that as "North Laois" and was wondering when the Chinese built a casino there... :).

    Ha North Laois was destroyed by the ghost estate developers,no room for a Chinese casino.

    Well look at much of ireland's more scenic areas. Urbanisation and indisutrialisation in the form of multiple wind farms on hill tops/ mountians is the order of the day. So we are in a poor position to criticise asian countries.
