Marking footballs

    Hi all,

New to this board, so hi all!
So to begin with a slightly random question...................

Just wondering if anyone has any good tips on marking footballs? As in writing the clubs name on the ball?

In my club it seems like we have to reapply permanent marker to the ball every couple of weeks because it gets worn off - but I have often seen others where the ball is always well marked and never seems to fade.

Is there different grades of permanent marker to use?
It's just that I often do it myself in the club and it's a pain having to do it every few weeks!!

Hopefully someone will have a good idea of the best way to do it!

    Thanks very much

In my experience it's usually a case of whoever in the backroom has access to markers (usually a teachers) uses whatever marker they have

    Yep, same here!
Although to be fair it generally evens itself out, we lose plenty of our own too!

I do it for my own footballs, have tried a number of different permanent markers and found that a new bic one seems to stay on the longest, make sure the ball is completely dry and clean before putting it on. Other than that, just keep doing it when you pump the balls - its a pain alright, but a necessary one
