What's your favourite album cover? And why?

Also Clarence is dressed in white and Bruce is dressed in black, I think that's the main point of it.

There's so many to choose from but The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett is among my favourites.

I love it because it's a great picture of Syd. It's a great picture of his floor too. He painted it himself specifically because he knew he was going to have his photograph taken for the album cover. He only painted the middle of the floor though and left the rest the way it was.

American Beauty by The Grateful Dead is great too. The words 'American Beauty' on the cover can also be read as 'American Reality' if you look at it in a certain way. I can't find a decent picture of the album cover. You really need to see it in high quality to appreciate it.

Obvious enough one....

And I don't even really get the hype about Fleet Foxes (although they are decent). But I studied Pieter Breugel in History, and absolutely loved his paintings, and this is a segment of one of his paintings apparently, so naturally I have the album on my iPod just to gaze at the cover.
