I've had a bosch for 5 years with no trouble.
Have a bosch washing machine as well and replaced built in oven/hob from hotpoint to bosch this year too.
When you find a brand that doesn't break you tend to stick with them!

Thats good to hear, Samsung fridges are good value, however, I would rather spend an extra 300 - 400 € to get reliability such as Bosch/Whirlpool and their ilk.

I have will have my Samsung 5 years this xmas and never had trouble until yesterday, had to get an enginer to call out today to fix it and it cost me 200 euros... nearly died, but sure it had to be fixed couldnt afford to buy a new fridge, the back panel, defrost sensor, defrost element and terminal fuse all had to be replaced. Least I have these parts covered for the next year, my neighbour also had to get his fridge fixed twice in the past 5years.

only for this miss hap I never had an issue with it. Samsung only cover parts for 2years, so if u are buying on, Id recommend to buy extended warrenty

    Hello Car,
Thanks for the advice, I did suspect that with Samsung fridges. Apparently the most reliable American FF on the market is the Bosch and Siemens, but hey check out the prices @ 1400€ +++.

In the end I actually purchased a free standing fridge and a free standing freezer which stand side by side to give the impression they are one and the same. The best thing is the storage capacity is much greater.I purchased Belling fridges which offer 2 years part and labour all for 350€ each. The beauty of having individual fridge and freezer means if only one fails its not a huge outlay to replaceone rather than the entire unit.

When all is said and done, the actual freezer capacity of many American FF are quite poor when you factor in the water dispenser which goes deep into the body of the fridge.

I think what you have done is the best solution - having a seperate fridge and freezer side by side.

As you say, more internal space, and less issue should one "side" need to be replaced.

This makes sense. I have to replace my fridge/freezer soon. I cannot afford to buy until around October so plenty of time to choose the best type/make/price. Thanks for this idea.

Bosch appliances are very good but American FF work out very expensive. As well as the initial cost you're recommended to change the filter every 6 months, these can cost up to 50 or 60 quid. The Bosch one is over 100 though.

Say no to Samsung.. my father had a tough time .. dealing with customer support...fridge was very loud at night.. and made weird noises.. its really low quality built...like their TVs too..
