    Hey seeing how is it a beautiful day, I want to get the kids out and about so wondering were can I bring them for a picnic around Carlow some were nice off the beaten track I know there are spots around the river but were LOL :)

    any advice please!

    Oak Park would be your best bet.

    If you have a car, try the Castlecomer Discovery Park. It's about a half hour drive from Carlow. Lovely walks, picnic areas etc.

    Out by Black Castle in Leighlinbridge is a very nice spot. You can also walk along the barrow there also.

    St Mullins is also a nice spot.
