Its paid by instalments. You pay first half in September the start of term and second half in January the start of the second term. That is definitely the case with your course and college registration, I think it includes exam fees and college fees altogether. I'm not sure I think you might have the option to pay in full or is that with UCC Accommodation?! Can't remember. Have been a year since I left there.

From my experience, if paying registration only, you have to pay at the start of the year in a lump sum unless you can make an agreement with the fees office.

If paying tuition yourself, you pay half and half once in September, and again in January

Just want to stress that the above is from my experience of doing first year twice, once with free tuition, and again paying myself.

    Hi there,
I have read that if you are not entitled to the grant then you can pay in installments... and anyway if you have trouble at paying your fee it seems that they have a "tollerance period", I mean they wait till January.
I think it's explained here (Student Debtor policy)
    http://www.ucc.ie/en/financeoffice/fees/FeesSchedule20112012/
Question:I have applied as a mature student, got my offer and I have applied for a grant. Does anybody know how it works in that case? i mean if I understood grants are usually approved after the beginning of courses... do I have to pay and wait for a refund?

    Hi there,

I will be attending UCC ( hopefully ) later this month. I just registered for part 1 online and a bit confused by the whole fee payment set-up on my account.

It states: amount due : 2150e

Then there's a financial statement telling me: 7415e

So, not sure how much i owe now .

I did attend 3rd level in the past in 2006 ( level 6/7 ) course but left after the first year. The course i hope to start in UCC is at a Level 8.

Sorry, but afaik it doesn't matter if it's level 6/7/8, what counts is that the state has already paid your fees for first year in third level, so you have to pay them this time. If you left after first year though you won't have to pay them after first year this time because the state will still pay the remainder of your degree, provided you don't have to repeat at any stage (they won't cover repeat years, which is how they view your current year as it's the second time you're doing 1st year).

If you're stuck I'd say give the fees office a ring, I'm sure they're used to situations like this.:) good luck!
