I've wandered around every scape yard i've ever been too. Never seen one where you couldn't, so to answer your questions, any scrapyard in Donegal will let you wander around (not much help, i know):D

Yea there all like that here.
The one in Tullyally in Derry is the same too.
They ask what your looking for and if you need help, then just leave you to fend for yourself.

Big Seans near Ballincollig in Cork used to be fierce handy, away in with the socket set and pick out what you wanted. You'd nearly always spot something else handy too.

Any place I've been (Cork,Limerick) since that closed has been over the counter only. Bob Sweeneys in Limerick was just weird for me - waiting area, seats, vending machines and a big flatscreen with Sky on. Far cry from Big Seans!

I've heard Donie Comerfords near Nenagh has a set up where the stuff is all there on shelves in a warehouse so you can wander round and pick out bits without the insurance risk of a stack of cars falling on you... haven't been myself tho.
