Bear with me because this might sound weird!

I really want this dress but it's going to be too short on me and I don't want to wear it as a tunic, is there anything you can wear under dresses that would peep out obviously and give some extra length but that wouldn't look stupid. I can picture the kind of thing i'd like in my head but it's hard to describe! I suppose it would be a bit like an underskirt but one that could be worn under straight dresses instead of a puffy one!

I know it sounds like a stupid question but there are so many brands of dresses I can't wear because they are just slightly too short so if I could just get something for underneath them, that wouldn't just look like I was wearing another skirt under the dress but kind of added to the dress then it would be perfect!

I have the same problem. I'm 5'7" and I find so many dresses are too short for me!

What about wearing a lacy slip or half slip under it, so you would get some of the lace peeping out under the dress?

Try one of the vintage places in Temple Bar, or even ebay for a lovely vintage slip. But try make it short enough that there's no more than maybe 4 inches showing as otherwise it might not look intentional!

Otherwise if it's a dress you adore you could get someone in an alterations place to add a lace hem? You can get fab lace in Trimmings on the quays?

    Thanks guys!

It's such an annoying in between height isn't it Thurstonwhore, i'm 5 ft 7 1/2 and it's so hard to get a dress long enough and we're too short for the tall ranges  It's also really annoying because there is never enough leftover material if I were to let down the hem, like even an extra inch would make such a difference!

I will take both of your advice and look out for a nice slip!!
