Hey there, so my washing machine spin function is kaput. Basically, it washes and turns fine, then when it comes to the spin bit - nothing. Tried clearing out the filter but no joy.

It's a Whirlpool about 5-6 years old, so just wondering about how much I'm looking at for a repair so I can balance it against getting a new one. I hear things about call out fees, time fees and parts fees, so any idea roughly what I could be looking at to pay?

    Cheers.

Anywhere between 50 to €100 call out/repair fee, parts extra unless you registered it with manufacturer when bought machine, then parts should be free. Repair company can get it from manufacturer.

Phone manufacturers and they'll tell you call out fee. However they'll try to sell you extra charges onto it, over anything up to €200!
You'll be put through to a UK callcentre as Irish branch has closed, but the agents/repairmen are still here!

There are a few independent companies who repair and are quite decent (considering how much manufacturers agent charge) posted up on other threads.

    Six of one,etc

Thanks embracingLife, it's a Whirlpool and was in the house when we moved in, but I know it's about 5-6 years old. Just trying to get a rough idea if anyone else had this experience and how much they paid...but of course it could be a different issue and won't know until diagnosed.

    Cheers for the links :)
