Cracked rear panel, what part to buy to replace?

I cracked the rear panel on my iPhone 4 a while back and am now looking to replace it. The only problem is that there seems to be a tonne of products available on eBay, all offering to do the same thing.

Can anyone link me to what I need to be able to just unscrew (I've noticed that my phone has 5 pointed star screws i.e. not torx, philips, or pentalobe) the panel and slide on a new one.

    Cheers.

You just need to unscrew the 2 screws near the dock connection and the back cover slips off, it's a 2 minute job.

I know that, but there are; glass only replacements and rear panel assemblies being sold with and without screw kits (bear in mind my screws are 5 pointed stars and not the pentalobes or phillips head) with the accompanying photos looking the exact same for every product yet some coming with warnings saying that it's not what I'm looking for!

If it's just the glass that's cracked all you need is the glass not the whole back assembly. It looks like this

    It's about a 30 second job! ;)

If they post you out a genuine apple back case and you replace it yourself would that void a warranty should you need to send it off to have it repaired? What I'm really asking is would they be able to tell if you did a diy job?

no, the only way to for them to tell it's a DIY job is if you use a cheap screw driver and damage the screws!

But removing the back case WILL NOT void you warranty!

free shipping but no stock till next week.
Your warrenty should be fine, no one will be able to tell it was opened unless like mentioned above you don't use the correct screw driver, there is no seal on the rear case
