when we got our van it had one of theses on it http://www.charlescamping.ie/onlinestore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_106&products_id=1195
grand bit of kit was hoping to use it with my silvercrest free to air box only thing i have never managed to get a signal with this dish.i know about pointing the dish as i still use the small lidle dish that comes with the 12v unit and i can get it up and running in a few mins,
i have checked the maxview cables and connections all seems in order, the van is 20004 is it possible that the lnb is analog and this is why i cant get it to work ?

Very unlikely. What make/model is the LNB? What's on its label?
The LNB arm probably needs to be roughly horizontal to get a signal.

The link you supplied indicates that it's a universal LNB, so it should work with any current receiver. No such thing as an analogue or digital LNB - just LNBs that work in different frequency ranges or have different local oscillators.

i dont think the problem is with the pointing all the adjustment is done from inside once you point the indicator north its a simple affair to find astra on the dial and im sure your right that the it is a universal LNB so not that either, so im at a bit of a loss as where to go from here ?

Here is something that will help you find that satellite http://www.dishpointer.com/
choose the satellite you want, zoom in on where your motorhome is when it's parked up using earth (it's google earth) it then shows you which way to point your dish

Do either of these two things, put the lidl lnb in the motorhome dish holder or get your lidl dish and lnb out, once you've chosen which one to do then get a long piece of sat co ax aerial cable, connect the cable one end to your receiver and and the other end to the lidl lnb on the motorhome dish or lidl dish and lnb lnb, whichever you chose to do, then find a satellite with the dish, once you have found a satellite then disconnect the end of the satellite cable that is in your satellite receiver and connect it to the motor home cable end that should/usually connects to the motorhome dish lnb, so you should now be running the extra cable one end from the lidl lnb and the other end into the roof of the motorhome connected to the existing cable connected with a f-plug connector which joins 2 fplugs together, then connect the other end of motorhome cable into back of receiver, now see if you have signal, if you do not getting signal then your problem is cable or connections and you need to investigate further all connections e.t.c., if you are getting signal then you need to be looking at the motorhome lnb as the problem, swap the lnb's over and check and see.
I think I laid it out plainly but if you are not sure get back to me
Isolating the problem brings the solution
