Which HD Monitor?

Ok so instead of getting a HDTV to watch movies and play Playstation on, I've decided to kill two birds with one stone and completely change my entertainment set up and Work set up!

I've decided to go with a HD monitor that I can use with my PlayStation 3 and also use as a second/alternative monitor for my Macbook.
I've narrowed it down to pretty much 2 options, both of which i found on Elara.ie which are great value, I reckon.

Bare in mind that I do video editing/colour grading/photo editing somewhat professionally and this HD monitor I would be using for work projects as well entertainment.

OK here is option one: http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=MMEB921227
Nice Price, 2 HDMI ports and speakers is what drew my eye to it

    Here is Option 2:http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=ECE1820081
Nice Price, Speakers and very trusted brand name

Few questions... is it better to connect my macbook through Mini-DVI to HDMI compared to Mini-DVI to DVI? How much difference does it actually make, considering the macbook isn't a HD device. Is having 2 HDMI ports really a plus, I'd rather not have to keep on unplugging them between the PS3 and macbook.

I'm pretty sure audio wouldn't work with the Macbook as I'd need separate speakers through the Macbook. Am I right? That's no big deal, but for HDMI connection to a Playstation 3, I would really need the audio, would the audio be fine with the HDMI connection o the PS3?

Using with the Macbook, does anyone know if either of these monitors have problems with scaling image, true colours, contrast, general quality etc. I would like to know that my monitor that I will use for somewhat professional video work is doing a good job.

Anyway for now my budget is €200 and built in speakers are a big plus as I'd rather not have to set up separate speakers with the PS3 and if I didn't need to set up audio with the Macbook that would be a bonus. and seeing as I know I can get 24" for that price I really don't wanna go any smaller:D

Anyway advice is welcome, hoping to purchase in the coming weeks

    Cheers Guys

    TH
