There was a Kilkenny Fire truck went past me to get to it about 30 min ago. Must have been a big one if they called in from surrounding areas

Tbf, compared to how it looked previously, it did look quite well for the tall ships.

It would look better again if it wasnt there at all, but I'd say whats there now is the best we can hope for until money becomes available generally.

Bull**** it did not look good, it looked better sure, but the reason it still ****ing exists it because people settle for it being slightly better than it was, but it's still an absolute shambles, a disgrace, a disgusting eyesore.

I think it should never have been given planning permission years ago, it was always an eyesore to be fair.

There were 2 small fires after the Saturday night fireworks at the TallShips. I was hoping the last few bangers would take the the whole lot up with it, but fireman are just so damn efficient and professional.

I agree with you, its a complete eyesore and still is. It just stands outlike a sore thumb when you look over the water.

The point I was making was that compared to how it looked before they put up the white covering, whats there now is a vast improvement. I don't think its bull to say that?

I think its realism and not settling to say that I doubt the money is there at the moment to do anything more. The hope would be that it gets done if and when money comes available*

    *so about 2050 really :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭abouttobebanned

Not as much spontaneous combustion, more like the hotel trying to commit suicide!
