Bosch Washing Machine problem

I noticed recently that the softener section is full of water at the end of every wash. Would it be a problem with the filter? I checked it recently and there was nothing in it which surprised me somewhat as I thought there should be at least something in it as I hadn't cleared it for ages before that. Anyone got any ideas to help me?

Did you take the drawer out of the machine to clean it? There's often a build-up of softener right at the back.

Dizzy's right, remove the draw and you'll find a small drain hole in the draw, it gets blocked with conditioner.

Thanks Dizzy and Billy. I removed the drawer and washed it out - there was a glob of detergent in the back and I cleared it all. I've just done a wash now as a test and unfortunately the water is still there in the softener section again, only now the water is clear. I thought you had cracked it but I'm back to square one again unfortunately. Any other ideas?

Did you take the drawer apart to clean it? Bet you didn't, lol. There's a covered part at the back of the softener section and you need to take that off.

Dizzy the drawer doesn't come apart at all - I tried - the little box is welded and nowt is coming offa that baby! I used a tiny bendy bottle brush which got in through the hole and got out all the gunk.

Yours must be an older model then - my drawer comes apart when you take it out. I'd have a look on their website, see if you can contact them with this sort of question.

I have a Siemens machine, which is similar to Bosch... When the powder drawer is opened, it has water in the softener section. If you pull it out all the way, it drains into the drum and then you can fill up the softener section.

Maybe what you are seeing now is not a fault at all,.. did you have a look at the manual ??

Hi rx8, well I had originally checked the manual and got the drawer out, tried to 'take it apart' as Dizzyblonde said and it wouldn't 'come apart'. However on your suggestion I returned to the manual and discovered that the compartment is not 'welded' after all but is hinged at the back end and it darn well lifted up! There didn't seem to be anything there but the drain hole that Billy Bunting mentioned was clogged a bit so I set to and gave it a good out scrub out. I have now just done two washes and BINGO! it is now cleared! I am delighted and somewhat :o at my own stupidity. Another mission accomplished - thank you everyone.
